Warriors Give Albany Pharmacy First Conference Loss

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Vaughn Warriors men's basketball team defeated Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Saturday, January 31. The Albany Pharmacy Panthers entered the game with a perfect 3-0 record in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). The Warriors came into the game 1-2 in the HVIAC and needed a win to remain in the final conference playoff spot. The win brings the Warriors record to 2-2 in the HVIAC, as they continue to fight for playoff seeding.

Three Warriors scored double figures in the game. Willis Preezy (Ridgewood, NY) led the team in scoring, finishing with 14 points and five rebounds. Sergio Mejia chipped in 13 points, grabbed eight boards, and had two takeaways in the game. Rashad Luckett added 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four thefts.

The Warriors will host Kings College for their second annual Pink Nation game on Wednesday, February 4, at the Elmcor Recreation Center. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. The Warriors encourage everyone to come out and support them as they raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
