Warriors Come Up Short against Morrisville State

QUEENS, N.Y. - The Vaughn College Warriors lost to the Morrisville State College Mustangs on Sunday, November 23. The loss snaps the Warriors 10 game home win streak, dating back to last season. The Mustangs completed over 57 percent of their field goal attempts and shot 10-17 from the three point line. From the opening jump-ball, the Mustangs got out to an early lead which they would never relinquish.

With a little over 12 minutes to play in the second half, the Warriors found themselves trailing the Mustangs 68-41. Despite the huge point differential, the Warriors continued to play hard and chip away at the lead. The Warriors relied on their defense to lead to offense, scoring 32 points off of 29 turnovers by the Mustangs. With a minute left in the game the Warriors cut a 27 point lead down to 10. Unfortunately, the Warriors needed a little more time on the clock to complete the comeback. The Mustangs would go on to defeat the Warriors by a final score of 87-78.

The Warriors had three players score double figures in the game. Rashad Luckett (Chicago, IL) scored a game high 27 points, connecting on six three-pointers. Sergio Mejia (New York, NY) and Willis Prezzy (Ridgewood, NY) chipped in with 11 points and 10 points respectively.

The Warriors are back in action on Thursday, December 4, when they face Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Conference (HVIAC) Opponent Pratt Institute.
