Vaughn College Participates in Hoops for Hayes Fundraising Tournament

On May 31, Vaughn College participated in the second annual Hoops for Hayes annual basketball tournament. Hoops for Hayes is a three- on- three basketball charity event. The tournament was created to honor the life of Joseph Charles Hayes, who was a basketball lover and New York Knicks fan. All the proceeds and funds raised during the tournament go to rebuilding and revamping basketball courts at Mays Field.

Vaughn College entered three teams in its second time competing in the tournament. Each Vaughn College team placed in the top 10 out of a field of 32 teams. Unfortunately, Vaughn College was upset in the championship game by the number four seeded team. This is the second year in which one of Vaughn College's teams reached the championship game. With the buzz and excitement of the tournament growing, Vaughn College will again participate in Hoops for Hayes tournament next year and hopes to continue its success as a top contender.
