Ceaser And Macbahi Named To All-Conference Team

Vaughn College is proud to recognize two of its male athletes who were named to the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) All-Conference Team.  Senior forward Jihad Ceaser and senior center Mahdi Macbahi were selected for their high level of play and leadership on the court.

Ceaser averaged 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game all while shooting an astounding 33 percent from the field. As a consistent starter for the Warriors, he also led the team in minutes per game. There were many games in which the team needed him to play the full 40 minutes, which showed his resilience. Over his four-year career at Vaughn, Ceaser has shown a great work ethic, conviction and courage to be a leader on and off the court.  Through his leadership, he has mentored his teammates showing them what it takes to be a great leader.

Macbahi was a firm presence this season beneath the basket averaging 9.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game.  While bringing down over 12 rebounds and rejecting his opponents over two times per game, Macbahi found himself atop the conference in rebounding and blocks.  On two different occurrences this past season, Macbahi dominated the post bringing down over 20 rebounds, which is one of the reasons why he was a shining star in the conference.  Macbahi set the tone in the paint by demanding his opponents be aware that he was going to limit their shot opportunities. Whether it being a rebound from a missed shot, or rejecting their shot attempts, he was a force to be reckoned with.

These two seniors had remarkable individual seasons for the Warriors. They will be deeply missed by Warrior Nation.  Vaughn College would like to congratulate them on a season well done, and thank them for the tutelage that they have given to their fellow Warriors. Their leadership on and off the court will help the Warriors moving forward. Vaughn wishes Jihad Ceaser and Mahdi Macbahi the best of luck in their future endeavors.
