Warriors take on Yeshiva University Maccabees

The Vaughn College Warriors baseball team played their second NCAA division III opponent Yeshiva University on Tuesday, April 2. The two teams played a single nine-game at Overpeck Park in New Jersey. The Warriors started off the game slow and trailed the Maccabees early. Despite a late offensive surge by the Warriors, they would go on to lose their battle against the Maccabees. 

The Warriors used two pitchers in the game. Starling Tavarez (Bronx, NY) came in relief for the Warriors. He threw 36 pitches, 20 of them for strikes. Tavarez faced 10 batters and only gave up one earned run. As a team the Warriors manufactured three runs on two hits and six walks. Defensively the Warriors tallied eight errors, two more than their last two previous contests combined (6).

The men will look to regroup and clean up their fielding errors before they take on their next opponent. With the core of the baseball team returning. the Warriors will continue to build their program.
